Workplace Consultancy

Getting started.

At the beginning of every project we undertake, we create a project briefing document that sets the ground rules for what it will entail. It includes the fun bits - like what colour you want your boardroom chairs to be - and also the serious bits, which determine the foundations of the project.

This is the stage where we'll meet with your nominated team to talk about your business objectives, current and future working practices, company values, operational and cultural issues, headcount information, technical requirements and how you like your tea (not really, we're just testing to make sure you're still with us). This is also where we talk about how much it's going to cost and how soon you can test out your new swivel chairs.

Projects

Examining you current workplace.

Lots of offices up sticks and leave for pastures new when additional team members are welcomed into the fold. Far be it from us to tell you when it's time for a new home, but if you are rather partial to your current location and the thought of relocating makes you want to hit your head against a brick wall/cry/kick a small animal*, then talk to us about a workplace study first. We recommend these to all our clients as they're a brilliant way of showing how your office currently operates and more importantly, how it could be improved.

Our study will take a good look at your existing working practices, company culture, workstation layout and density, storage requirements, general business objectives and as far as possible, predicted changes in staff levels. It'll also give you a great insight into how much space you need to meet your future business plans.

It could be that you don't need to move at all, and that a clever refurbishment could give you the office of your dreams with much less stress and money. And wouldn't that be nice?

*by the way, we don't recommend that you take out your anger on Fido or Fluffy. Take a look at our sister company's range of stress balls, instead.

New building appraisal.

If your heart is set on a brand new workplace, we're perfectly geared up to help you, and will do so in the following ways:

A metre or a mile

It can be hard to gauge exactly how much room you and your business needs. Don't worry though, we've got rather good at it after lots of experience and analyse your methods of working, furniture systems, increasing or decreasing staff numbers, and effects of duplicate areas if you're merging two or more locations. We'll compile a report for you, which will help a Commercial Agent find the perfect office space for you.

Building A vs. building B

It's natural to have a couple of contenders lined up for your new working habitat. We can provide you with block plans to demonstrate which building is the best fit for you based on your requirements. On top of this, we can advise you on issues like fit out costs, construction timescales and base build features (for example, air conditioning, electrical supplies, DDA compliance and so forth).

Helping you become DDA compliant

Times have changed for the better and the Disability Discrimination Act has been put in place to make sure that disability doesn't hold people back in today's workplace. We work with an approved specialist and commission reports on both new and existing buildings to help you make sure that your office is completely DDA compliant.

Asbestos be gone

Asbestos isn't very nice stuff. Which is why we use approved surveyors who can assess the presence of asbestos in any commercial property and give recommendations on treatment if the little blighter's present.
